BOMs Away - Fruit Salad 2018

I spent most of my Sunday BOM time working on Fruit Salad - which, given it was my own block of the month, seems fitting! I also worked on my plan for 2019 - I’m going to switch to posting the blocks on the first Monday of the month, with the BOMs Away post, because I usually forget which random Wednesday I was supposed to post on.

Oh, and the actual quilt for 2019! It’s Veggie Patch. It’s also scrappy, but the blocks are much smaller than the fruits (no 18” oranges this time around!) It’ll also be utilizing mostly 2.5” squares, so save those jelly roll bits and pieces. And this time, I’m also going to be making mine with a scrappy background, using brown Kona cottons leftover from the numerous Minecraft quilts.

So that’s the plan for 2019, if you’d like to join in. And as for 2018…

I made these three blocks to round out the layout for Fruit Salad - another orange, peach, and lemon. And I have two more additional blocks in progress, and then it will be on to piecing the top!

I’m pretty excited to get this one done…but first I have a stack of customer quilts to longarm, and a table at my town’s holiday gathering on Saturday to prep. Oh, and one more commission quilt to finish off. It’s going to be a busy week!

So did anyone else work on their BOM? Or a project broken into {slightly} more manageable monthly pieces? Or a few blocks for someone else’s charity project? Link up here or at What a Hoot!
