She's My Cherry Pie - a Fruit Salad Block

So, I'm super - SUPER - late on this one. Last week, I honestly thought there was another Wednesday yet to go in July, so this post was due...two days ago. Oops.

And then I realized I had an endoscopy two days ago, and ended up on the couch for the rest of the day, and of course I didn't finish my block in advance. Oops.

BUT. Since I'm skipping Friday Finishes for a month, I figured a Friday Fruit would work this time. It's summer, y'all. Just roll with it.

All that to say - cherries! The Little Man's absolute favorite fruit of all time. We had a Rainier cherry tree in our backyard in Washington, and I had to watch him like a hawk when it was ripe because he would just pull them off and eat them non-stop.

In fact, he got more than a couple of my prop cherries during the photo session. Pretty much every time I turned my back to sew, another one or two would go missing. And once I was done, he was ready and waiting to feast on the whole bowl.

Needless to say, cherry season is our favorite. And so is songs about cherries. Hope you enjoy the earworm!

I am using the same neutral (Kona White) in all my blocks, and I use the Quilt in a Day triangle ruler to trim my half square triangles.

In December 2018, there will be a layout pattern for the entire Fruit Salad quilt, as well as more specific yardage.
