RSC Main Street - April

Guess what? It’s booooooonus month! There’s five BOMs Away Mondays in April, so I’m double dipping on the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I finally made it up to OKC this weekend to see the Dude in state Academic Team finals. (They’re the runner ups!) And also went to Savage Quilter, because their website had a gray Dimples fabric that’s pretty close to the one I’m using - but I want'ed to see it to be sure. (The original gray was discontinued. Don’t take five years to finish a project, peeps!)

It was definitely close enough, so I bought a yard. (I only needed about 9”, naturally. But I’m not running out this time!) Then this morning, I stripped together the long sashings, added them to the already made color blocks, and started on the pieced cornerstones. And made one more color block.

It doesn’t look like much (because my husband made me clean the garage for four hours in the afternoon instead of sewing!) but it’s well on its way to being the last six blocks now. I’m going to try to pull out something from every scrap bin as a daily leader/ender to finish the color blocks, and hopefully NOT wait until July and the next five-Monday month to stitch it all together!

And so… Did anyone else work on (or start) a BOM? Or a project broken into {slightly} more manageable monthly pieces? Or a few blocks for someone else’s charity project? Link up here or at What a Hoot!
