It’s bonus week! Five Mondays in September works out perfectly, since I have a set of bee blocks due at the end of the month. There’s only four of us, so it’s a quarterly swap with some added goodies to make up for the lack of participants. And since I had a Rainbow Scrap Challenge finish just last week AND I’m currently piecing the blocks for next year’s scrappy BOM, I wasn’t in a rush to get working on my next one quite yet.
But never fear, Jack’s Chain will be making a long overdue appearance next week. After these lovely blocks get their week to show off.
This block is for ModernQuilting, and it’s a Beacon Light block. Obviously she asked for two shades of the same color. And it’s just a nice block - visually stunning, easy to put together, and upsized to 18” so you don’t need that many to make a good sized quilt.
I have a rather large collection (we’re talking three bins worth) of solid yardage and scraps (thanks, Minecraft quilts!) so I have no idea what brand these are, what shades they may be…all I know is I had enough to get the sizes I needed. Only barely on the light yellow! And that one is super soft, like Art Gallery Pure Solids or Michael Miller Cotton Couture solids. Mmm, I love those tender lightweight fabrics.
Ahem. Anyway. Before I go back to petting fabric…
And so… Did anyone else work on (or start) a BOM? Or a project broken into more manageable monthly pieces? Or a few blocks for someone else’s charity project? Link up here or at What a Hoot!
